I am a film professor at the Montana State School of Film and Photography. I have a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Sciences, and an M.F.A. in Science and Natural History Filmmaking. After graduating with my Ph.D., I decided to pursue a career in science filmmaking. My films have covered a diverse array of topics including western wildfires, thermophiles in Yellowstone, elk, soil carbon research, and an Arctic climate monitoring expedition. These films have been featured on PBS, the Yellowstone National Park website, and in numerous film festivals. When not teaching and making films, I enjoy photographing the landscapes of our unique global ecosystems. These areas represent some of the most pristine wilderness in the world. Hopefully, my photographs will inspire everyone to visit and continue to protect these wonderful places.
